I have an injured Fish!

Today I noticed one of the fish in my freshwater tank incurred an injury. I think another fish may have attacked her. She has a small gash just behind her eye but ahead of her gills, and it looks like it was/is bleeding a bit and it's puffy. This fish is about 1.5 inches long. So far I've put her into a small tank by herself to heal, but is there anything else that I can do? Any sort of additive or something that could help the fish heal better? It's a long shot but hey... it's off topic, that's for sure.
 
Did you try neosporin and a bandaid? j/k

I am not a fish expert, but I have healed fish injuries. Just make sure the water is clean. Those conditioning additives never work.

I just seperated the fish from the main tank about 5 minutes ago, so yes... she'll be fed in isolation.

edit: She does swim funny (very slowly, very little, and only in right turns) and she wouldn't eat, presumably because of fear of the other fish.

Is there any filtration?
 
I don't have filtration in the other "tank". (it's a 8-inch tall, 6-inch wide vase). But, the water in it is fresh and the same temperature as the main tank. I figure I'll just have to do water changes a little more often.
 
Oh, the fish is a female betta. I really want to help save her if I can because female bettas are quite hard to find, especially here in Alaska. People only want the males it seems.

If there's no filtration, I would be very worried about ammonia and nitrite.

Test for ammonia and nitrate frequently, feed less than you normally do, and do frequent water changes.
