I have an idea to integrate TXT messaging and media

Nowdays many companies are integrating text messaging into their promotions or service. Many blog sites now text message you alerts, let you upload pictures, and even post from your phone.

The other day I was watching TV and I got a good idea on another way to incorprate TXT messaging into something very mainstream. I asked everyone around me and they were surprised it isn't already being done. How would someone go about making that idea come true? Is there any way I can capitalize on this?

Well as these stupid threads always go, I obviously can't tell you exactly what the idea is. I can tell you it's basically a special way to incorporate TXT messaging into movies and TV advertisments.

The point is, say I had came up with the idea to have TXT message alerts from blog sites like myspace and facebook before they did. My idea is very similiar, so how would I of gone about capitalizing on that? Is it even possible?

i hope your idea is like 'txt this number to get more info', because lord knows i can't get enough info on advertising

I'm looking at the United States Patent and Trademark website and from what I can tell it says that average patent takes 24.6 months to get processed. Is that saying that there is no way I can make a dime of this for at least two years? That seems a bit silly.

Patent pending...

80% of the crap that is being sold and is profitable doesnt have a patent. Talk to a lawyer and he will represent you to companies who are involved in what you want to do.

EDIT: Do not, Do not, again Do not, call any numbers on television saying they help you get your idea to market. Companies that want a dime before they help you are scammers. Companies that want to profit off of you being successful in your venture are there to help you.

That's kind of what I was thinking. However ideas such as TXT messaging integration is so easy to copy. You just sort of have to see it once. Within weeks of each other Xanga, Myspace, and Facebook all started using it. I could only imagine how quickly it would spread through TV and Movie promotions. Is there any way I can protect myself from companies just using the idea once they see it done elsewhere?
