Hey guys.. so I have an a7v8x, which has those additional RAID ports.. but I have no idea how to use them.. is there any way I can plug just one extra drive in? I have 3 hard drives and 2 cdroms and really don't want to give any of them up, does anyone have a suggestion?

Yeah, that will work. Put one or more of the hard drives on the RAID ports. I'm not sure if you'll even need to go into the RAID controller's BIOS to set the drives up as one-disk arrays, but if they don't show up in Windows Disk Manager, then reboot and press Ctrl F when prompted. There is some info in Chapter 5 of your manual but it has to do more with setting up RAID0 or RAID1. Sorry that's not a definitive answer, but if it isn't enough then I'm sure someone will pop up with more info 😀
