Well, I finally got Administrator privileges for my office workstation so I can now install anything I want... and they're managed by a subcontractor (a big global IT services company with a 3-letter name that starts with an "E", and end with an "S")! It took alot of hard work, but here's how I did it: Constant pestering and service calls because my PC didn't have a certain font installed, the keyboard driver was not the one I needed, I wanted to have 1280 instead of 1024 on my 19" monitor, etc. etc. etc. After a while, the guys at the help desk got fed up, and said something like "... OK, buddy, you know computers, and we shouldn't have to send somebody down to your cube across the street to help you when you don't really need it, especially at 4:55 in the afternoon when its -20 outside, and especially when this service call is non-billable because, contractually, we owe you this service..." So there you have it. No beer, no donuts, no cash payments or blackmail. Just good old fashioned annoyance. Try it
