I have a weird prob with my 1700,,Pls. have a looksee!!!

I installed it ,,everything was just fine,at my first bootup it said it read it at 1540

I then ran a benchmark,,then rebooted again,,but this time it said it is a 1400 ?

Thats weird,,anyone know what's goin on here?,,I could use some help here i thinks..

Probably a reset or something changed the setting in the bios. Go into the BIOS and make sure the FSB:Memory is at 133/133 and the CPU multiplier is at 11X. This is the correct setting for a 1700+, and should get everything working.

Now, if this works, then you can probably adjust your multiplier on your motherboard (Tbred chips, like yours, are multiplier unlocked up to 12.5X). So, you can try upping the multiplier to 11.5X, 12X, and 12.5X and see if you can run at these speeds (1800+, 1900+, 2000+, or put another way, 1.533Ghz, 1.6Ghz, 1.666Ghz). You probably won't need to up the core voltage, but might wan to try upping it +.1V if something doesn't work...
