I have a simple networking question

The USB adaptor will work w/ the AP since they're both 802.11g standard, though usually it's best practice to get both from the same brand/manufacturer.

The only reason i'm getting a belkin because it doesn't look like linksys makes a USB adapter like that.

if you have to get AP/Adapter same brand, then that brand is junk. 802.11 is a networking standard. Would you tell someone they should buy the same NIC as their switch brand?

There are some "features" included in cards not in the 802.11 spec that may require brands.

The WAP is expensive, unless it has a special mode that you need, you are better of getting a WRT54 that goes around for $39 after rebate, and use it as an Access Point.

Linksys does not make Mini USB but the Belkin is $10 more expensive than some of the others.
