Can you ask a question in a thesis statement for an argumentative paper? I dont think you can, but I could be wrong.

I think that defeats the purpose of a thesis.

If somehow you manage to make a question into a thesis statement, I would assume it would be quite weak.

It's called a thesis statement, not a thesis question.
