CompUSA is having a sale on 250 gig HDs and I'm wondering how they work with most motherboards. When I went to MSI's website they said the biggest HD the K7N2 Delta-L can handle is 160 gigs. So, how would it work with a 250 gig HD?

Do you have to partition it into 2 partitions? Is that how it works?

I thought most of the big hard drives out there like 250+GB had to come with their own card because the motherboard bios wouldn't recognize the full capacity?

I didn't see any mention of a Ultra ATA card included in the box that I saw (they were Maxtors)

older bios wouldnt read drives over a certain size... well they would read them but only a portion of the actual drive

with most newer motherboards this isnt a problem

The (most recent) barrier was at 128GB. That's real capacity, not HD marketing speak. HD marketing speak, it's probably around 140GB.

Long story short: If your board will work with a 160, it will work with a 250.

I feel gyped, where are the pics?

Only pics you'll be getting are of his floppy

I'm sure it won't be a 5 1/4" floppy.

or a 4mb Compact Flash.

If it doesn't work, I'm sure someone on the FS/FT will trade you for two smaller drives.
