Hello, I have a question about how much I should charge for my service. Having plenty of experience with computer repair and upgrades I have came across someone that wants me to upgrade all of their desktop computers from 98se to windows 2000 professional. I would be installing a fresh copy of windows 2000 on about 5 computers and reinstalling all software and drivers. All these machines are dells so drivers shouldn?t be too much of an issue and the hardware is good enough to support w2kpro. I am at a loss as to what I should charge for this. What do you think I should charge? What would you charge?

just make sure that you are not responsible for the computer crashing in six months. I suspect that they might expect that this comes with a lifetime warranty.

I'm assuming the guy has enough clues that he must provide Win2000 OS or he'll be paying labor+OS.

And don't forget that if the client is business you need to be particularly careful about OS licensing.
