I have a question about those enclosures that house IDE devices...

Has anyone mounted an LS-120 superfloppy drive to a USB/Firewire connection enclosure?? And if you did, how did it work?? I know you can do hard drives or CDRW burners...

Kaieye, isn't the ribbon connector for an LS-120 S/F different than a standard IDE connection?

That's what I was getting at chrisisbored, but I wasn't 100% sure till you posted.

Then how come "they" are billed as a "floppy replacement?" If they are a "floppy replacement," then they would not use a standard IDE connection, but rather a floppy connection GrouchTheSlayer. Please correct me if I am incorrect. Thanks for your time.

They are billed as floppy replacements because they can read and write normal floppydisks. This has nothing to do with the connection.

i think they used to, if they don't now, have floppy connection as well as the IDE connection on there. but i could be wrong.

Has anyone heard of a Superfloppy being used sucessfully this way mounted and used in a IDE enclosure???

If LS-120 drives have an IDE connection, then you won't have any problems fitting and using it in an IDE enclosure.
