Why did Dr. Ross leave? I don't mean George Clooney's personal reasons for leaving, but what did they have Dr. Ross do to leave the ER?

IIRC, he left after his father died in an effort to find himself and experience life? But it's been years and I could be wrong.

IIRC, he prescribed drugs when we was under disciplinary measures that prohibited him from doing so, and instructed/aided a mother in how to OD her dying child on those drugs.

I watched all the eps from the beginning via AVI recently (took months)... he left because there was nothing left for him at that hospital. His trust was lost from Greene and Weaver after many things he pulled against hospital policy. He was basically a loose cannon. He went to Seattle to practice pediatrics instead... and Carol didn't follow him... until a season later (after she had his twins)... she went to look for him in Seattle and she practically left the show for good then too.

Nothing as dramatic as how some other docs like Romano got written off. ;)

I've seen so many episodes and I never saw these few :(

Thanks for the quick responses!

Romano was an ass. I wanted him to die like that. But man it sure surprised the hell out of me when it actually happened!

Paul McCrane is a great actor. ;) And they wrote some great lines for him. :D

Also check this out for more funnies.

BTW, ER repeats are on every 10am-12pm on TNT here.. in sequence. They're playing season 3 ep 10 right now... Kirsten Dunst guest stars... ;)
