Im basically the Windows tech guy at my high school library (because the school uses Macs, and we have a few Windows computers for public access, so the normal tech guys dont really know anything about Windows).
One of the Dells running Windows XP (Home edition I think) got a blue screen of death with the folowing error messare:
STOP 0x000000ED UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
I googled it and found this at Dell's website:
http://support.dell.com/suppor...en&s=dhs&cs=19
I know Im supposed to run CHKDSK to fix this. The problem is that I cant install the recovery console because Windows wont boot, and I get the blue screen. Can I run the program without installing the console? Do I need to use the XP disk that came with the computer, or can I use any disk?
