I ordered an intel D845GERG2 motherboard from newegg this week. I bought this specific one as it said it had 10/100/1000 LAN onboard. this is to be a file server and I want the other 2 servers to all be on gigabit together.
when I got the board I saw the rj45 jack said 10/100 only. so I installed XP on it to see how the NIC was detected. well it sure is 10/100 not the gigabit according to newegg's website.

I am ticked off at this. I could return it but I don't want to pay a restocking fee. this board has everythign I want but the gigabit. should I suck it up and order intel pro 1000MT for like $40 from them? maybe ask them to send me one free?

newegg's policy page here pretty much says no matter what happens it's not their fault.

any ideas?

Well, it sounds like if you exchange the board, they will not charge you the 15% restocking fee...

yes but I really don't see another similar board. it's going to run debian linux so I don't want a 865 based board

Check to make sure you ordered the D845GERG2LK (N82E16813121202) and not the D845GERG2L (N82E16813121205).

If so, they shipped the wrong board and are obligated to exchange it for the correct board. If not, you ordered the wrong board and they can not be faulted for shipping what you ordered.

The board you want is in stock, according to Newegg.
