I have tried everything but this 1 computer i have keeps just restarting at total randon times. First the webpage just stops and the computer restarts.

Ive tried the RAM , powersupply , HDD , CPU , mobo , and a good few other things , i think the only thing left thats been kept constant with all the testing is the [ cable modem ] could this somehow be the problem?

It dosent like reboot or theres no blue error screen just a restart.

The computer runs on - P4 2.0A Gig - Jetway 845E Pro Motherboard Rev 1.0 - It has 256 Mb PC2100 Nanya RAM - Samsung 40.0 Gig HDD - 350 watt P4 Power Supply And all this runs on Windows 2000 Professional.

Any suggestion would be very appreiciated .

After it does this reboot crap check the BIOS for system and CPU temps, it sounds like either heat or a bad psu\power source.

Try a different outlet or power strip. Sounds like power surges, spikes, or dips could be causing you problems. If you can afford one get a UPS (battery backup) to filter the power and give you some time to shut down if there's a power outage.

Turn off automatical restart under Control panal --> System --> advance --> startup and recovery to see what it says in BSOD.

have you checked for a random screw that may have fallen on the mobo and may cause a short...long shot, but you'd be suprised. but if the web page is bombing your system out, i think that the ram may still be the culprit. did you run memtest86?

Look over your motherboard capacitors and make sure that you don't have any that are swelled (on top) or leaking. I had a system that randomly worked similiar to yours....gradually worsened until it would not run for 3 minutes. Noticed that caps were swollen. Replaced with new ones and has run for months without crashing.

Good Luck! :)

Right ,

Ive changed the power supply all together from 300 to 350 and its not turned of for like 3 days . Wierd thing is that i just swapped the power supply with another computer and the one that i suspect is faulty has been running fine in the other computer.

I was interested in what you were saying "Ingineer" because the longest it took before was like 3-4 days of running fine then it started restarting more and more until it wouldnt even run for 10 minutes.

Anyway so far so good its been on for nearly 3 days now and its been fine .

The other power supply has been fine also - eek ;)

I had one of my rigs rebooting and found out the fan inside the power supply was turning to slow.
I installed a new fan and it is peachy now.

Check your power source!!! (the wall) If the voltages coming out of the wall aren't stable, your PSU won't be putting out stable voltages. I'd say be on the safe side and get a UPS battery backup, will filter power better than any surge suppressor and will save your bacon in a blackout.
