Here is what I got in my system right now.

P4 2.4ghz 400 bus
1gb ram pc2700
fx5200 ultra (128mb)

board supports 522mhz bus.

is it worth the money to upgrade the processor? Just looking for some opinions thats all. Its a Dell system so overclocking the chip is not an option. Before anyone gets on Dell, the system was gotten when they had the 4550 deal with free LCD over a year ago. System was bought because the wife always breaks the comp when i go away on army trips, this way Dell comes to the house and fixes it when she does. In people's opinions, is the speed inprovemtn from 2.4ghz to higher worth the cash having to spend on a new processor? A few games are played on it, office apps, and a little bit of photo editing is what the system gets used for.

any input would be appreciated.

If you play games, upgrade the video card. Get a Radeon 9600 Pro or something. Upgrading the CPU won't really be worth it because you will be limited by your slower RAM (only PC2700) and motherboard. In order to get really good performance out of a new (ie 3 GHz) P4, you need high speed RAM, preferably dual channel PC3200 on a new Canterwood motherboard.
