I put an Athlon XP 2000+ on an MSI K7N415. When I boot, the processor shows up as an Athlon 1250. But my Seti WU times are in the 4.5 hour range. I was running 512 MB Crucial PC2100 and the normal FSB. No overclocking (yet). The page linked above says up to XP1800+, but there have been bios updates (which I have done) to take the board to 2000+ and beyond.

Something doesn't seem right. If it was really running at 1250MHz, wouldn't my times be slower than 4.5 hours?

What are your guys (and gals) thoughts?

The board appears to be set for 100 MHz FSB (12.5 x 100). The 4.5 hours could be right with DDR memory, would be closer to 5 or 5.5 hours with SDRAM. Bet you have to set a jumper on the board for 133 MHz operation. I had a few mobo's that required that.

Good luck with it!

Yep, After I posted this thread and went looking some more for an answer...(imagine this) it was in the manual!! :p

I switched that little pice of metal wrapped in plastic and it is now happily running at 1713MHz (just a slight overclock for now) It has been a long, long day....

It has some nice FSB adjustments when you take it off of what MSI calls "safe mode". Basically locked at 100MHz

Thanks.... :)

With my 2000 (1.662GHz) running at 1.76, I just finished a WU at 2:56... :D

More overclocking to come......:)
