Hello all,
I installed a new 64mb dimm module (8Mx64 SDRAM)in my computer and on boot-up it recognised only 16mb. I began to look up different sites for help and on Intel's site there was a small piece about the 430VX chipset, which I have. It said the 430VX does not support x4 SDRAM configuration. It said it does support x8 and x16 SDRAM.
What does this mean and how would I know when I have the correct SDRAM?
I would appreciate any help, thanks.

The 430VX is an old chipset for the original Pentium.

Since you have DIMMs, you most likely using a newer chipset. Go download DocMemory @ www.simmtester.com. It checks your RAM for problems. If it isn't bad RAM, I don't know what is wrong.

You can also try updating your motherboard's BIOS. But that may not be the cause of the problem.
