It will work - IF - your socket converter supports FC-PGA coppermine devices, if your motherboard recognizes the device -or- has something like softbios to allow you to select multiplier and FSB, and for full speed operation, you'll need PC133 memory, hopefully a divide by 4 for the PCI and IDE busses and finally, for the full speed operation, you'll be overclocking the AGP slot so your graphics card will need to handle the overclock.
Without the divide by three for the PCI/IDe you'll be overclocking those ports and your devices may or may not handle the overclock.
if your motherboard does not allow FSB manipulation, you'll have a 600MHZ PIII system since the multiplier is locked at 6X for the 800EB device.
Enjoy!
