<< I have a picture of the 7 because before hand he said

"Could you please email me a picture of all of units with a paper on it saying "7 units"?"
>>

Isn't that quite an odd request?

Cyberian,

On the surface it might sound odd, but the buyer was dropping a pretty big chunk of change. Probably wanted a little verification.

<< omg...that's a lot of info on a receipt....my PO is very generic it seems :( >>

I'm looking at one of my receipts and it looks just like yours WH, no weight.

There is a bill# on it so perhaps the post office may have info in their computers about the weight.

*Edit - Nevermind, I just looked at yours again, no bill #.

I just mailed two packages this morning and the receipt looks just like the one Russ has. Whats up with your P.O?

What about the insurance receipt? Any additional info on that? And at least you got insurance on this...!

Okay..I replied as:

I had placed all 7 in the box, and shipped the items to you. Aside from
postal theft, the only answer is that you may have miscounted the boxes. As
you can tell from my feedback I am not a dishonest seller.

-Josh

This was his response:

Josh,

I know how to count boxes. When I received your package I opened it and
I found only 5 units and some air bags to cover the empty spaces. There
is no
evidence that the package was opened by a USPS worker because the seals
were
intact. I'm not a liar so I have not had any problem in the past and you
can verify my feedback; only positive comments, no neutrals and no
negatives.

I'm sure it was your mistake, please re-verify it.

Did you buy insurance on it, or was there any way he had to sign for the package? If he signed for it, tell him tough beans. Any transaction of that amount the buyer should have to sign for the package in some way shape or form.

"...some air bags to cover the empty spaces..."

Ah hah! No mention of sand filled bags to jack up the weight! You're in like Flynn! If the weight you paid for can be verified as 9lbs, he's backed in a corner now.

Other guy is no affiliated with Anandtech....Does this look good for my next reply?

Mike,

I payed to ship a 9lb box at the post office. Each unit weighs 1lb 1oz. Since there were 7 in the box that makes 7lb 7 oz. Now you can add about 1.5lb for the box that they were shipped in. Since the air bags weigh nothing, it looks as though that is equal to about 9lb 1oz. Saying that I only shipped 5 units would make for a total of about 7lbs.

WHSLacrossekid,

If you actually did ship him all seven, you really only have one response: Tell him to take a flying leap.

<< WHSLacrossekid,

Man, your post office sucks; no detail on that receipt at all. This is what the receipts look like at my post office.

All post offices in my area suck!!! They only print generic receipts like the one WHSLacrossekid had :(:Q

<< There's always two sides to a story, that's all I'm saying...

What do you mean by that?
>>

That there's Mike's story and that there's your story. Both of you have spotless refs yet the only thing Anandtech is privy to is yours. I'd like to hear from him his side (from him), that's all.

You've seen his emails. That's as much as WHSLacrosse has seen. WTF?

There's a chance one of his employees may have copped 'em, but that's not WHSLacrosse' problem!

Man that sucks dude. I have dealt with you alot and talk to you all the time. I know you wouldnt do something like this. Some people.......:|.........

I hope you get everything resolved, and from what I have read it seems like the weight thing would be the deciding factor.

I wouldnt worry about ebay feedback, since they were not sold there he doesnt have a transaction number to leave feedback with.

Just get your money out of Paypal {It sucks anyway} And let things cool off and pass, then get you a new account.

Don't rule out postal theft, a few years ago I ordered some cat food and only one of the 2 bags was in the box. Didn't look like it was opened but the place I bought it from swears they put 2 in there and the original shipping weight would have been for 2. So where did the second bag go. My guess was some postal employee needed some food for his/her cat.
I'd file a claim with the postal insurance. It may help.
Several years ago I had to ship back a computer part to a vendor for replacement. They claimed they never got it so I filed a claim with the postal service. Wouldn't you know it mysteriously showed up at the vendor...

Here and in FS/FT it seems like the first person who even as much mentions a problem with a deal is given full, unwavering support. "Go get him!" "Down with trolls!" "If you need help in the area, I'll break a few knees!" (you get the idea). What's wrong with hearing both sides from both sides?
