it seems like every time i go gambling i lose control and usually end up losing all my money. the chips just dont feel like money to me. so i'll plop down hundred dollar bets without thinking twice. the worst part is, i think i've become immune to feeling bad about it. i'd feel worse spending $500 on some cool gadget than i would if i lost that much at a casino. anyone else have this problem?

I bet you a dollar he won't.

i'll take that bet.

and i'm not looking for sympathy or anything, i just want to know if anyone else likes gambling so much that they'd rather 'spend' money that way than buying actual stuff

thats rough, i don't have a gambling problem, but i would just not take money out of the bank. Make a limit u can take like 100, start from there

Why not try to set a limit to yourself. Say you won't spend more than $100 one night. And as soon as you go over, stop playing... This way, you can still gamble, but not blow too much money

I have the same problem with betting on football. Speaking of which, i wonder whats the point spread and high/low on the Rams and Browns game.

Do you like the glamor of a casino/resort... or do u just go to the corner store/bar and blow $$$$ on keno or whatever?

Like the posters above said, if its just you, you should be able to stop.
If you have a gambling freind that you hang with, you need to do something about that.

Gambling is a disease.. like addiction to porn.. you just don't see anything wrong with it and probably never will.. It just lowers the quality of your life without you realizing it.

nah, i never go alone, i think i like the atmosphere of a casino... i do set a limit, i only bring what i can afford to lose. i'm not to a point where i'm hurting for cash because of my gambling. i think i'm just at a point where i'm beginning to realize the amount of money i'm actually losing. but its kinda like entertainment to me, really expensive entertainment....

One of my college friends had a sports gambling problem. Unfortunately for him, this was before you could bet online where the worst that could happen was a ruined credit rating and possible bankruptcy due to maxing out credit cards.

In today's dollars, he was about $80,000 in the hole to bookies, and in order to help settle his debt he was persuaded to go to Bolivia to do some errands for the bookies. And then word came from his parents that he somehow died there.

Gambling has about zero appeal to me, but for those of you who like it, don't end up owing bookies large amounts of money. It's not good for your health.

I lost $1598 the other night :(

I was up $888 from the other night then screwed it :(. So I was -$450 or so down. I live in England and the £1 = $1.76 at the moment! So I was £230 ish down.

I'm now after some more hardcore roulette skills (lol) up $435 up :D.

The house has better odds so the longer you gamble, the more they get from you. Ever wonder why vegas is so glamorous? Its been paid for by the stupid consumer. Stop gambling.

While I don't have this problem...I've noticed more and more of my friends habitually betting online on football, basketball, and various other sporting events. Can't be healthy. A lot of times they make out big...other times they lose a lot...and of course they only talk about the times they win.

That said, I have a friend who seems to have the most amazing luck. Everytime he goes to a casino, he always walks away with a butt load of cash. Last time he was in Beluxi
