Alright. I have a Dynamic IP that changes like every other minute. Which really sucks :(. This is my first time at a place with a Dynamic IP, I've always had static. I know that there's a way to forward your IP constantly as it changes to a DNS server that way you can get a no-ip.com thing going.

The only thing is that I don't know how to do this. I've tried reading all the FAQs and help things that I could find but I'm just totally lost and confused.

I'm really looking for someone to help me out, step by step on AIM or MSN (onesl1ckguy and mazubieta@msn.com, respectively). I know there is a program Direct Update but I couldn't get it to work for crap!

Thanks in advance!

edit ... oops ... left a blank message

anyhow you should check out http://www.no-ip.com/.
They dont do redirection, they actually register you as an alias, they also have a nice little script that calls home and updates the IP on their DNS server, so iyou don't have to. I use this in linux, I don't know if they have a script like that for windows, but i wouldn't want to use windows for a server anyhow. (though I did use ServU for quite some time in windows)

Check out http://www.dyndns.org

Basically you sign up for a (free) account, and pick an account name. You'll get an address like "mangotbg.dyndns.org"

There are a number of little programs that you can run to keep dyndns.org automatically apprised of your current ip address; I think most operating systems are represented. You'll find everything you need on their site.

I actually use their service for my static IP address...it's free and more convenient then giving out my IP address.
