I'm not at all a fan of Apple as a company, and I don't own an Ipod....but with the new QT 7 install coming with Itunes, I said what the heck and gave it a shot....and it's great.....

what's not to like about it other than the fact that it's from Apple?

The media library portion is 100x better than winamp's, and to me that is the most important part.....

I'll have to play around with the play list editor and see if I can get that working

I've not tried iTunes yet, but I'm tempted to give it a try. I've heard horror stories about it messing up your MP3 structure -- what's the story with that?

Yeah it's awesome isn't it?

Funny how no one around here like to admit the things that Apple has done extremely well.

i use itunes, but the main things that piss me off about it are that it uses up more resources than winamp and it doesn't support wmas. Still, i like the interface and library structure much better than winamp's.

if you run the media library in winamp, winamp actually uses more system resources than itunes does

when you install it there is an option about the directory structure - just tell it not to change your structure and you'll be fine

visualizations work nicely

evil lyrics works fine with Itunes

my Logitech G15 keyboard LCD works out of the box with Itunes as well

still haven't found any negatives yet...

I love iTunes. It organizes music quite nicely, has great playback quality, makes MP3s just the way I like 'em(192kb VBR), works swell with my iPod, great interface, and sharing is easy.

I freely admit the things Apple does well. They put out a product which is very easy to use - to a fault for tech-savvy people, as we generally don't need or like the handholding. This is their niche and half of what allows them to overcharge by so much for their products, the other half being an excellent advertising campaign. I have gladly bought their stock - just not their products.
