Someone want to attempt this?
Holidays are good for fun and laughter. Seeing friends. Seeing family, etc. But what they really are is "phonebook cleanup" and "who really cares about you" day.
EVERYONE I know, and I mean everyone, sends a MASS message to everyone in their phone book on every holiday saying Happy Thanksgiving! or Merry Christmas! Every once in a while, you get a message from someone you don't know, and you reply "Who is this?". They reply all pissed off that you've deleted them, and so there you have it: "Who really cares about you" day. Then there's the opposite side who experiences phone book cleanup day, where as they're going through their phone to send this message, they delete people they don't want.
This seems to only happen on holidays, and I see a big potential for a comic or xkcd drawing out of this idea.
