I was using a pc3200 memory(two sticks and running great!) 512 each on a Asus Nvidia chipset motherboard and decided to remove the old memory. I then substiuted two sticks of PC2100 just to see what happens. I believe I hosed my OS and had some kind of windows corruption problem and it asks to do a repair to fix the OS.
Can you damage a memory stick because one of them seems to have a problem right now. That is, one stick is broken but the other is fine. I am writing about one of the PC2100 memory stick and I did reset the bios to default. I did not install the old pc3200 memory because that was used on another system.
