Retail coolmaster (the kind that comes with a duron 600 to 700) hold long enough to test it, or should I wait 2-3 days for the volcano III's I ordered to come. The III is rated to 1.3 gig so I know it should work.

I do not know which coolmaster it is, I do not see any numbers on the side or top to tell me. I guess it is the lower one and it only has a single clip.

As I read on the dp5 5g11b goes up to 1.1 gig for an Athlon (t-bird??) and 900 duron.
 
sure, it will hold fine to test it. if it's a crappy coolermaster (some are better than others) i wouldn't run prime95 or seti, etc... to torture it but it will be fine to see that everything works. the only thing is that it's a pain to keep switching the hsf on the t-birds so you might just want to wait this way you can just put on the volcano and leave it (that's my suggestion but i wouldn't be able to wait 😀)
