I have a 9 foot sofa I want to buy, my truck bed is 5.5 feet, can I haul it?

I have a 9 foot sofa I want to buy, my truck bed is 5.5 feet, can I haul it? Do I leave the tailgate down? or how do I do this? I'm a dumb blonde....lol

5.5 bed + tailgate = 6.5'....so you are only 2.5' off. Ratchet straps and tie down points are the way to go. You could put boards that are 10' long in the back of your truck and strap the sofa down with those under it if you want more of a level platform....you could also temporarily screw the sofa legs to boards on the inside if you want extra assurance.....or just pay a delivery fee. 👍

Make sure you bring something to pad the bottom of the sofa since the legs won't be on anything.
