I have a 466 Celron.. should I bother going to a 900 Celeron?

The reason I ask is that I can upgrade my computer to a 900 for only about 60 bucks. Would this be worth it or should I just bite the bullet and get a new case, cpu, mobo.. etc.

My 466 still runs most everything fine (New wolfenstein runs with no problems) so I figure a 900 should last me quite a while.

Anyone have any opinions on this? I am looking to save money but not waste any.. as in buy something that will be worthless in a few months.

With SSE instructions built into the newer Celeron II`s you will be surprised at the difference besides the speed... 😉 Also with the cost of the P3`s coming down a P3 700e would be a better option...? Also if you wanted to OC to 933mhz its almost a sure bet now... 😉

hmm.. are you a heav gamer..? if not.. just get the 900... and overclock that baby to 1.1 or something...

And get a decent HSF! 😛

yeah... doesn't sound like you are a heavy gamer if you are content with the performance of the 466... go to 900 by all means!!

I'm in the same boat, a Celeron 466 overclocked to 546 at the moment. Going to drop a Celeron 800 in there and overclock as far as possible when I free up some funds. What's your video card like, though? I'm going to pair the new CPU with a Radeon LE.
