I have 4 weeks to live.

Wow that is terrible to hear. 😱:'( I know it sounds somewhat weird but thanks for sharing instead of disappearing.

I have enjoyed your posts and perspectives. I wish you and your family the very best of luck and thank you for your contribution to this community

Make sure that whoever cares for you knows your prognosis and doesn't call 911 at the end. Get your DNR wishes in order. Give everything away before you die so that no one fights about what they think your wishes were. Read a really good book that you've been meaning to get to. Are you in any shape to have an end of the world party? If I knew that I only had one month to live, I'd get everyone I know together for a kegger! Then I'd like to have time to myself and my immediate family.

I hope you don't suffer.

Hi Nanette,

I know we never really had any direct communication, but know I've always enjoyed your posts and that you've been a great member of our Anandtech community. I hope the best for you and your family, and I'm very sorry to hear this news.

Best wishes, enjoy the time you have left,

Paul

I'm very sorry for your situation, and you will be missed. I very much hope you are comfortable and not suffering. Do you have family and/or friends with you?

Fight it, fight it with all your might and mind. I've heard of crazier things happened.

Believe it, believe.

Nanette, I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope you pull through this challenging time & beat the odds. Here's to hoping you enjoy the holidays with your friends & family.

<hug for you>

This and this.
My grandfather was told the same thing in 1986, he lived until 2002.
Odds can be beaten.

So you just accept the doctor's arbitrary timeline for the rest of your life? Last I checked, doctors are not God.

If you truly believe you only have four weeks remaining, than that's probably what you'll have. If you believe otherwise, you might be surprised.

Sorry to hear OP. You will be missed and like other said, spent the rest of your time with those you love and never stop fighting.

Her medications in that thread indicates Diabetes mellitus 🙁:'( .
Hopefully you've pursued opinions of other Doctors and all possible treatments.

from your link, thats just a fancy name for diabetes.
its not fatal if u take insulin.
"All forms of diabetes have been treatable since insulin became available in 1921"

op, sorry to hear 🙁

.... Is this serious?

:'(

You seem like a nice person. Sorry we were at odds in the Amish thread. You were still nice even then.

I'm sorry to hear this. Best of luck with what time you have left, hopefully much more than what you think.

You may wish to sign the back of your license allowing the use of your healthy organs when you're gone. Make your final act on this world the act of giving life and hope to people whom you've never met.

What a surreal post. How terrible.

All I can say is that even though this is just a message board, know that behind the names and avatars there are people all over the country and world right now wishing you the best and hope that everything plays out however it does as painless and peaceful as possible.
