Do you all download MP3 ?
I don't understand why so many people spend time (and money) downloading MP3 while you can rent any CD for less than $1.5 and make a copy that sounds better than MP3.

i personally don't know of such a place.

Maybe this is typical of Belgium.
There are such facilities in each big city of the country (the one next to my house has more than 100,000 CDs) and they also have several trucks plenty of CDs going in the smaller towns/villages.
Being such a small country sometimes has advantages !!!

3651buck, In the US people pay $20/month for basic phone service which includes an unlimited number of local calls, we also have no per minute charges. Since we don't have any per minute charges no reason not to download lots of music or other things.

OK, I understand now...
I think our national phone company should apply your system !
We pay almost 20$ a month 'just for fun', it does not include any call.
We then pay 0.05$ a minute for local calls and much more for distant calls (hum hum, distant calls in Belgium... the country is less than 200 miles long !!!)

It's all about ease of use - one of my playlists has over 1500 songs and shuffle play loads any of them instantly ;) No more scratched CDs either! And Infinite Playlist possibilities. I have playlists for Moods, Artists, and Favorites. Try to do that with a cheap CD jukebox ;)

MP3 sounds good if it's encoded with a decent encoder. IE, forget Xing. As far as downloading, I have a cable modem so I can download most songs faster than I could rip them anyway ;)

3651Buck, you don't have any MP3's because you don't have any time, you are too busy harping on people in the thread about handguns.... kidding, hey, I said I was kidding dammit! ;)

Actually most of the MP3's I have I own on CD or Cassette, the cd ones I ripped just for ease of playing, and the cassette ones I downloaded because the cassettes are wearing out and most of them cannot be found anymore to replace them with cd's.

I don't envy you guys in Europe that have to pay by the minute for phone calls, that must really bite. :(

You are right ratkil, I've wasted too much time in the thread about handguns.... But I gave up, I'll have time to download MP3 now ;)

Yes, it does !
And mobile phones are awfully expensive too (up to $1/minute to call another national network)
