i have 3 harddrives, how should i set them up/parition them?

i have a 200gb SATA, 200gb IDE, and 250gb IDE

i am gonna be installing windows on the 200gb SATA, how should i partition it so i get best perfomance? should i make a small parition just for windows and then another for games and then another for other things? i am not really sure how to set this up so i get the best perfomance. the 200gb and 250gb ides will be used for videos and mp3s and stuff so i dont think i need to make multiple paritions on them, or do i?

thanks for you help

Mike

I have the same question. I have a 200GB, 160GB, and 100GB IDE drives. The 200 and 160 are 8MB and 100GB is 2MB buffer. Which drive should XP be running on and should I partition any of the drives?

I would say set up a small partition (Maybe 10 GB or so) for the OS and stuff like that. That way, you can easliy format that partition and install windows, etc... The other stuff is up to you. Do you want to have seperate drive letters for mp3's, videos, etc...? The storage partitions are pretty much up to your preference. If it were me, I would make a 10GB windows partition, a 50 GB or so partition for installed programs, games, etc.... and the rest for my media files.

EDIT: not sure why this went up twice. sorry about the clutter.
