Seriously, I'm food prep retarded and I have no idea how to transform avocados into guacamole. All I know is that I will need lime juice to keep it from turning brown, and I will need a fork to mash it all up. But what else do I need? Onions? Tomatos? Do I put chopped veggies in or should I just put some salsa in it?

You can't have "gwacamole" but you may be able to make some guacamole.

onions, tomatoes, and a couple jalopenos (sp?) will make a nice guacamole

only use fresh - putting in a jar of pace will prettymuch ruin it imho

first of all 3 avocados is going to make a significant amount of guacamole, if it's just you then 1 should do.

generally I make it by pressing garlic onto a plate and smearing it around, then take out most chunks of the garlic. Cut avocado in half, take out seed, take out insides. Then mash with a fork, add cilantro and salt + pepper.

Sometimes other things such as onions and tomatoes are added, which is also a good way to increase the volume of guacamole without buying a ton of avocados.

add a bit of sour cream to it also. what i usually do is dice the avocados, add a can of chopped jalapeños (or dice up some fresh if i have time) and some cilantro. i also use a metal strainer and push out the juice from some good chunky salsa. the chunks add a good color to it, as well a s some flavor. lemon/ lime is optional, as it wont turn too brown anytime real soon. it really does nothing for the flavor, and can make a good guac too sour if you use too much anyway. ive even gone so far as to add some cottage cheese for texture, and people loved it. it did taste good. im not a purist (avocado, lemon and cilantro), so i dont mind trying out new add ins for guacamole. one thing i always add is either sour cream or cottage cheese now, i just prefer it to the point of being a necessary ingredient.

I make guacamole a lot and I usually try to add chopped tomatoes, onions, lime, cilantro if i have it. I just recently started adding a bit of olive oil and I really like how it turns out.

Three avocados? I think I made my last guacamole with two and it was plenty for a super bowl party.

avocado, onion, cilantro, and lime are the key ingredients to guacamole
Tomatoes may be added optionally.

It turns brown without lime juice? Interesting. You learn something new every day.

or dusting them with salt. tastes better with salt than lemon also.
