I have 2GB GSkill PC2-6400 Memory , I want to go to 4GB

Hi all

I want to upgrade to 4GB, I currently have 2GB GSkill PC2-6400 Memory , but I cant seem to get any more from my local store, what should I go for? I have to get 6400 800 Mhz memory dont I ?

I was thinking the below ;

See my sig, I mixed two different types of G-Skilll RAM. I just made sure they were both good brands so I didn't run into any troubles. It's working fine for me, only downfall is not being able to get my fsb quite as high, but it's close. Note that since you are using the 32bit version of Vista you will only be able to see ~3GB in Windows.

Cheers cutthroat, when you say see ? do you mean it wont ultilise the 4th stick?

My local hard ware store is pc world, Im busy so sunday is my only chance to buy, from this site which memory would you get ? (1gb) price up to 100 pounds

You are really kinda limiting yourself from that store, they really don't have much for selection. IMO it would be better to get the G-Skill 'HZ' memory so you would know that it is equal or better than what you already have so there would be little performance loss. Your memory is only going to run as fast as the slowest DIMM, so you don't want to get something worse than you have now, especially if you are overclocking or concerned about your RAM timings.

But if you have to choose from there I would get the OCZ Platinum.
