I have up to $200.00 to spend on a new video card. How would you maniacs spend it? And why. Thanks in advance.

Just picked up a PNY Ti 4200 64meg card this weekend for about 120 bucks at a computer show. I know it's not a Direct X 9 card like the ATI but I needed something to replace my first generation GeForce DDR until Feb and the GeForce FX. This card breathed new life into my P3 733 system, I can run UT 2003 with everything set on high and have 15 bots running around with me without a stutter. With my old card my system would have puked it's guts. Same deal with Battlefield: 1942.

Depending on your upgrade cycle if you get enough YES votes for the ATI card I would probably lean toward that since you'd get a longer life span out of it since it's a DirectX 9 card. I'm just real comfortable with Nvidia and their drivers that's why I went with the TI 4200, I also plan on upgrading again in two months.

Right on! This card is already available on mwave.com and beats all the cards out there (except of course ATI 9700) and is available at the price you are looking at right now. I heard somewhere that Best Buy is going to have this for $165 after Rebate but cannot confirm that. I would wait for a couple of weeks.

if you can wait, get a 9500PRO.
i cant, i must settle for a ti4200. :eek::(
Also, it wont make much sense to get a 9500PRO if you plan to upgrade again in like 4 months again.

I am still using a radeon original 32 Meg, I bought a 8500 last year in dec for $200 and sold it now the cost $85 for one, I am thinking about getting the 9500 pro and am sure next year at this time it be worth half but looks like a very good card to last awhile.
