Start in safe mode by pressing F8 right after the machine POSTs.

Tell me more about what you want to accomplish with not installing drivers. I'm not sure I understand.

I mean, when ever i unisntall my Videocard drivers(Geforce 3), when windows starts up, it automaticall installs some older crapy geforece 3 driver that i do not want. The only way i can i install new drivers is to intstall them ontop of the "automaic" one which is not very clean. How i can i prevent that from loading automatically? is there some way i can delet those embeded xp nvidia drivers soo theres no way possible for it to do soo?

In reality, it's plenty clean.

The only way you can prevent this is to have newer, signed drivers on your hard drive when PnP detects the video card.

Or I suppose you could hack the .inf that points to the older drivers that W2K is using. Check setupapi.log to find the .inf Windows is using.

so far, I have had pretty good luck with the "update driver" route. It seems to be clean enough

(I always unzip the new drivers, then don't let XP search during the update process)

I think you'll be OK without the present drivers being the only ones ever installed.
