That would serve pretty good. but wasnt the 9500 pro actually slightly faster?
also right off hand.

9700pro
9500pro
GF TI 4200
GF TI 4400
GF TI 4600
just depends on what you can find and where. but any of the above should do fairly well
or you could always get a GF FX 5200 LMFAO :p

For $115? Like hell he'll get a 9700P for that. $175 maybe.

9500Pro should be possible - there's a few on the forums. The lower two in the Ti series should be below $100 as well, and won't hold up if he wants "future considerations" :)

I saw a few 9500Pro going for 125 in the FS/FT. I would up my budget abit to get that over the 9600pro.

Radeon 9500 Pro if you can find one for that price. A 9600 Pro would be alright, but the 9500 is faster.

A GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (or higher) otherwise -- they're still pretty decent cards! I have one in my second computer and one in my girlfriends computer and they're still running strong.

I found an FX5800 ultra for 125.00 with a custom fan (not the noisy stock one) somewhere pretty cheap, ill try and find the link if your interested. I was thinking of picking it up as a backup but i dont know :)

EDIT :

here you go =x
I think these are acutally supposed to be reasonably quick, and for that price, not a bad deal at all. If it was full retail then it wouldnt be worth it :)

If you're not afraid of a refurb from NewEgg, I got a Sapphire 9600 XT for $113 last week, for my father. It's faster than I expected using 2X AA and 4X AF. I'd definitely take it over a Ti 4600.

Radeon 9700 NPs go for around ~$125 shipped off eBay.

They're in another league, compared to the R9500/R9600 and TI4600/FX5600

I searched under 9700 for video, and looked at a list of completed items.

There were about 10-20 non-Pros that went for $105-$120, + shipping. I even picked one of those up.

I would not risk it. I would still go for a 9500 pro for a few bucks more

i just checked ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2786380049&category=40158
$120

that is the low

usually 125-160 but you can easily get one for 145/150 and every once in a while you will get one for less
just look for an auction that ends at a non busy time like 12 am or later

Ahhhh, i don't know..

Chances are it will go smoothly.. And even if it doesn't, he can still have a 9500.

I say go for it..

Or again, save up a little bit more and grab that smokin' deal @ CompUSA. (9800)
