i was under the assumption (perhaps mistaken) that divx was mpeg-4.

They are all derivatives of mpeg standards.

I really don't see why you are even posting. You can always convert your files, and it's not like the viewing experience will be corrupted by the small loss in quality on the massive screen it has....

You would have had to re-encode them anyway, were you really going to take 700 meg videos with you?

they are not targeting the kiddies SOny has stated over and over this is targeted at the 20-30 soemthings tech/gadget geeks out there
