Only you, Creative. You put out a new firmware for your Zen line of MP3 players. It completely borks their ability to connect with all of Creatives existing software. You know this. You leave the firmware up for a month despite thousands of complaints. You make no mention of a problem anywhere, nor advise a fix for the problem. Your tech support plays dumb...like the problem has to be Windows or PC hardware related - despite knowing full well that it is a faulty firmware. Searching the web easily confirms that the problem can only be fixed by restoring the older firmware or using third-party apps.

Creative, you are the master of ignoring problems that you create, rather than owning up to them and fixing them. Remember the VIA chipset Sound Blaster issues...yes, your fault too. That was where you honed your "pass-the-buck" skills.

You suck. You totally suck. You owe me (and about 20,000 other people) 8 hours of my life.

So are you looking for help on this forum or just venting?

It might help if you specified what type of Creative MP3 player you have. From what I have seen on Creative's site, they warn you that the latest firmware will basically erase everything on your player (so back it up!) and is meant to be used with Media Player 10. They also link to software updates to allow Creative software such as Mediasource to be used with the latest firmware (meant to be installed after the firmware update). So it looks like they have given you fair warning and provided the necessary updates (at least for the Nomad Zen Xtra which is the player I am using).

I hate creative too. Wait 7 years to develop a new architecture, but couldn't wait another 6 months to make it native PCI-express. And jesus, the amount of actual engineering they've put into thier SPUs... why no unified drivers?

You have the ability to be crappy when you have a monopoly on the soundcard market. But seeing as they don't have anything near a monopoly in the mp3 player market, I'm not sure why they're doing this. This isn't going to help them win over the iPod.

What player are you talking about and which firmwire version? Some of their new firmwires work with only Windows XP SP2 and it syncs with WMP and shows up as a drive in my computer, which is a lot better than the sorry excuse for software creative provides. If you could get more info up someone might be able to find a solution to your problem.
