Well after wating over 6 weeks for my rma to return and having to spend $14.00 to ship it to Canada in the first place, it arrives back a new sealed card, bundled with ghost recon. so i pop it in my comp and whaddaya know! its DOA!

a brand new card sealed in retail packaging doa!!!!!!!!!!!!!11


now i gotta start this process again, wait anther 6 weeks and dish out another $14 to ship it!

Well i pop in my spare x700pro and it worked right away after cleaning all drivers and uninstalling cat 6.11 for the 7900gt, and still did;t work so i poped in the x700pro again and reinstaled cat's in the mean time. system is running flawlessly in the mean time.

how big is your power supply?
 
hehe, this happened to me as well. I recieved my xfx rma, and it arrived DOA. Thing is, they live within a drive from me, so i picked it up 😛

I'd call 'em and ask 'em to ship another one out first this time, along with a prepaid mailing label. Since this is the 2nd one you've had problems with, they might be willing to do this.

Wow, that's odd, because I love XFX. My XFX 7800GT is the best graphics card I have ever owned; got the highest overclock, came with the coolest goodies, and hasn't given me any problems in the year I've had it (built this computer in December of 2005).
