I swear... Travelocity flat out sucks. I will never book anything with them ever again after this nightmare. Here's the summary of events from my fiancee and I booking a trip with them to Las Vegas.
April 7th: Booked trip with Travelocity. Our trip consisted of needing roundtrip tickets for 2 and a 4 night stay at Planet Hollywood.
June 11th: Log into Travelocity account to find out that I no longer have the same departure flight. At first I think that I chose the wrong option for our flight when I originally booked, but double checking with my fiancee confirmed that I did not. I call Travelocity that night to find out that my flight was canceled by Spirit. He informs me that they sent me an e-mail. That's odd, I think I'd notice that. Yes I do check my spam folder for my Yahoo mail account. The funny part too is that he was not able to confirm what day that e-mail was sent out. I'm told that I'll be called back from the complaint department within 24-48 hours.
June 13th: No phone call from Travelocity within the 48 hours they told me. So I call back after 49.5 hours of waiting. The representative tried setting up a conference between Spirit, Travelocity, and I. After waiting 20 minutes, I am told that they are unable to do so at that time, so I would be contacted by a supervisor within 24-72 hours to fix this. I specify to the representative that I would like to see this happen this time because it didn't before.
June 16th 1:40PM: I receive a voicemail from a supervisor by the name of John. Unfortunately I was slammed at work and didn't see my phone light up. I listen to the voicemail to find out that I have "options" that he does not bother to describe. Great... Nice to see I can get a direct number instead of the stupid toll free number everyone else uses.
June 16th 6:35PM: I finally get the chance to sit down with my finacee while I'm on the phone with Travelocity to make sure all the details are worked out. I sit parked in a holding spot waiting for a representative for 25 minutes. That's odd... it never took that long for my first two calls. I finally hang up and eat my meal at the restaurant we were at.
June 16th 10:55PM: Odd that I get a representative on the phone rather quickly this phone call. I'm told this time that I can choose between an earlier flight than what I originally had booked or the late flight. Obviously I want the early flight because it won't cut my time in Vegas. So I'm told that they would work to get my tickets switched and that I would receive a call back within 24-48 hours to let me know what is going on.
June 19th 6:40PM: Another broken promise for a call back. This time... they're about 20 hours late at the point where I call. This representative tells me that my tickets are still in the pending process. He sees that they are supposed to be changed, but that's about it. I inquire about who I'd need to talk to in the ticketing department to get this moving before the flight I want fills up. I'm told that they do not speak to their customers directly. How did I expect more nonsense out of this?
June 19 7:45PM: My supervisor Saul gives me the number to Spirit and my confirmation code for Spirit. Thanks for the, "Here you fvcking do it!" attitude Travelocity. I guess someone needs to be reminded of their "travel promise" of "Travelocity Guarantees that everything about your booking will be right, or we'll work with our partners to make it right, right away."
Current status: Waiting for my supervisor's superior.
Words of advice, don't bother with Travelocity. I'd so do a chargeback with my credit card and make them eat it, but flight prices would bring my trip up an extra $500 if not more.
