eh, the players they got weren't even all that great in my opinion.. lloyd is weak.. he makes some acrobatic catches, but he's small and not that fast... randel el is totally over rated... and has duckett ever been a premire back? i never thought of him as one... the skins will be above average, but i don't think they made drastic improvements in the off season

and i think the yorks (of the 49ers) are comming around.. they're still not spending like they should, but they're spending more than they used to... and i think alex smith is significantly better than he was last season.. we'll see how he holds up.. he played well against the bears

The skins were horrible after Gibbs left... Snyder tried to buy a superbowl with an all-star team; he forgot the most important aspects: chemistry and coaching. Finally, Gibbs came out of retirement (well, not retirement; he was busy winning championships in Nascar)... he's back, the team has vastly improved. Hopefully, they improve upon last year's record and playoff victory.

Duckett does not have to be a feature back, they have Clinton Portis too, although he's injured at the moment.

I'm not a skins fan at all, I just find your analogy inaccurate at best. Whether or not they get talent offseason, and I don't think they have a pattern of doing so anyway, it doesn't even approach what the yankees do. The yankees buy basically any good player on the market. They are also always major contenders for the title. The only similarity is that both teams try to get good players in the offseason, which is true of basically any pro sports team except maybe the golden state warriors.

I don't have a clue how you got the notion that the skins and ravens are major rivals. The ravens haven't even been around long enough to have rivals outside their division.

That and the players the Skins got this offseason aren't superstars. None will have the effect that Abreu will have on the Yanks, for instance. Lloyd is the most overrated of the bunch. The Skins did improve their offense but I don't think it will be enough to win the East. The Cowboys have built a young, deadly and deep defense that will be as good as the Skins this year. NYG have the best pass rushers and a nice offense to go with it.
