I hate the noise GSM phones cause speakers to make....

I've complained about this before, but now its reached a new level of annoyance...

My Cingular 2125 throws that annoying sound across the office to my boss's computer speakers (a good 15-20 feet away). Its not a big office so if i'm here, its usually making the annoying noise in her office...

Anyone else's go this far? In the past, i usually only notice it travelling about 3-4 feet (like when im sitting directly infront of the computer)

bid dee dib, bid dee dib, bid dee dib, bid dee dib, buuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
rrrrrr, bid dee dib, bid dee dib, bid dee dib, bid dee dib.

😛

I sent back my 8125 partly because of this - sounds like the 2125 is the same. Send it back and get another phone (the Nokia 9300 is much much better)

It's not just GSM phones that do it. My old CDMA phone used to cause a noise in both my car and computer speakers. It was actually kind of handy because the noise would start about a second before the phone actually rang, so I always knew when someone was calling ahead of time. 😉 They all must be close to a common resonance in audio amplifiers or something.

The Nokia 9300 and the Cingular 8125 are both bricks.

My nokia 6010 does it and I've seen cingular treo's do it too.

If my phone is exceptionally close to one of my CRT's, it'll distort that too. I have found that very high quality components can defeat it though... My CRT at work is industrial class 1600x1200 @ 85hz and isn't affected by it at all.

Yea, my cingular phone used to do this. I also did notice it before it started ringing too, so yea it was kinda useful. I don't notice it now that I'm on verizon.

Kinda makes you think, these things effect speakers and CRT's, but we stick them next to our heads to use them.

WTF? This is the first I've heard of such things.
I've had a GSM phone on Cingular for a few years and not observed said phenomenon.

I have seen a phone screw with a crt before.

Yep my Moto MPX does it and my buddies Nokia cam phone does it.......Mine has to be about 4ft from teh spkrs to not cause anyprobs. Or the TV for that matter
