I hate the heat this time of year :(

Arghhhhh... it sucks. Living on the 3rd story of an apartment complex, no insulation, direct sunlight, and an air conditioner that doesn't work along with 90+ degree days with tons of humidity.... my case temp hasn't dropped below 39 in a week. And considering my overclock my CPU is always running about 5-8 degrees warmer than case temp anyway (when idle) so right now, its just way too hot! My idle temps are in the low-mid 40's and under load it will just crash or lockup. Had to resort to my default speed of 900 just so I can play video games again... so sad. 🙁

Also, while I'm busy bitching, I've been without an internet connection since early may! Moved into an apartment, called to have cable installed. Oh, sorry they can't service us with cable. But, that's total BS! Someone in the same complex has cable, but after 2 weeks of fighting with the cable company, they still insist we cannot get it. Also, me and my roomate don't have a phone service since we both use cell phones... so we can't even use dialup or get DSL! But we found this DSL provider that you can get locally w/o having phone service through the usual Ameritech... we get a cheap DSL modem on egay for 40 bucks... it comes in the mail and we call up to get DSL hooked up... the only way they do it is with a 1 year contract! AHHHHHHHH... we're only in the apt. for the summer.

So here it is mid-June and I finally had to break down and call Ameritech (which I hate) and sign up for a phone service we aren't going to use except to dial-up into and just leave it connected. Its so frustrating... and using the internet at work just doesn't cut it.

Sorry I'm done now.

Atleast no one above you is stomping around. I was once in that situation and it sux!🙁

Find someone close to your apartment that has a cable modem and run some cat5. More than enough bandwidth for the both of you.

Heat moves up so that 3rd floor has to be toasty. I grew up in a 2 story house, and even though we had a separate AC unit for the upstairs, we could not keep it under 82° during the 110° Texas summers :disgust:

Dial up sucks but at least it is only for 3 months. We just got cable modems here after 2 years of telling us "well maybe in 3-4 more months"...

haha, we thought about running some cat5 into our apartment, but nobody immediately close has cable, the people who do have it are on the other side of the courtyard and I don't think we'd get away with running the cable through the grass 😀

Oh well... I guess that means I'll appreciate my 100mbit connection that much more when I get back on campus in august 🙂

90+ in East Lansing? My bro in Detroit has been bitching about how cold it's beeen up there. It's barely even hit 90 here in Atlanta this year.
