I hate the company project I'm working on

I love my job but I hate the project that I'm working on. I've spent over two weeks trying to fix a piece of crap report that someone that use to work for the company created. Now I can understand why the company let him go. I'm getting worried that I might end up losing my job as I find myself spending more and more time surfing on the web because I just don't want to work on this piece of garbage anymore.

What can I do to keep myself motivated?

Remember what it's like working for a living. That usually keeps me motivated.

send out a memo regarding a cover sheet and you should be fine, they wouldn't fire you if you send out a memo

Why don't you either A. rewrite from scratch the way you want it or B. hurry up and fix the code so you can move onto something else?

yah, this is your chance to be a hero for the company. do what SagaLore said, rewrite it from scratch, show it to your boss and his boss's boss.
