A couple of days ago, I pressed 20lbs more than my body weight for the 1st time in my life.

My chest started feeling tight yesterday, and it didn't improve today.

This has happened everytime I pressed a new record weight for me. 1st time was when I was 20. I thought it was signs of a heart condition. I went to see a cardiologist. I went thru the tests (EKG/stress test, and 1 other). Everything normal.

Then I get lazy and started working out less and less. Then I see my body going to sh1t, and I get motivation. My chest hurts again, I goto the cardiologist. Results negative.

It's a ~3 year cycle and i've been seeing a cardiologist every 3 years because of that since insurance is paying for it.

Do you guys have chest tightness when you bench alot of weight?

My muscles get somewhat sore but no chest pains which would indicate something wrong with my heart or lungs

when you take a while off from lifting you're always going to be sore for a few days after.. however, if you've been consistently going, and just pushed a little harder this last time, then you should feel a little tight, but nothing significant i would imagine...

Yeah, if you're feeling something besides muscle soreness, you're doing something wrong.
