I hate sociology...

Should elementary schools teach students about gay
and lesbian families? You are asked to write a short essay outlining the reasons why the material
both should and should not be taught to elementary school students. They expect you to base
your answer on known principles in sociology, not personal opinions or impressions.
The structure of your essay should look this:
Paragraph 1: Provide an overview of the social issue, as it relates to families, religion, education,
sexuality, and/or deviance (the topics we have covered since the first exam). What you want to
do in this paragraph is put the social issue in context?don?t explain it necessarily, just provide
an introduction that places the topic of teaching about gay and lesbian families in context.
Paragraph 2: Describe the sociological principles that help understand why groups do not want
this material taught in elementary schools. [Link specific aspects of the social issue to specific
concepts or ideas from Macionis or the outside readings and videos?be sure to cite the sources!]
Paragraph 3: Describe the sociological principles that help understand why other groups do want
this material taught in elementary schools. [Link specific aspects of the social issue to specific
concepts or ideas from Macionis or the outside readings and videos?be sure to cite the sources!]
Note, there is no place in the recommended structure for you to say, ?And here is what I think.?
Your opinions are important and we hope they are well-informed, but they are not something we
can (or should) use to assign your essay a grade.

What BS... :disgust:

No, "Write an essay describing Nhilism in "Fathers and Sons", and it's place in society in 19th Century Russia", is BS.
