they are the most pointless things in the entire world. What is their purpose and where the hell do they come from? They are gross. I just had to let that off my chest...I HATE THEM!!!!

I had a bunch of them in the house I rented in college.. those things suck! I used some spray and something called silverfish packs and that took care of it for the most part.

Haha those things are hard to kill. Stepping on them usually doesn't do much damage unless you're really grinding your foot into it.

They like to turn into a pile of green goup that's hard to wash off if you actually kill them.. Silverfish suck.

My roommates and I had a ragged old sofa a few years back. A year after we moved in, we got a second sofa and decided to do some rearranging. When we moved the first sofa, the entire section of the wall behind it was blanketed by silverfish. Hundreds upon hundreds of them. Well, we killed all of them, sprayed the sofa inside and out (the upholstery was torn in several places) with poison, and put it in its new place. We never did tell any of our guests about it, because we would have been very lonely if we had. Disgusting, horrible creatures.

I've always thought they were kinda cool....

But they do eat books, so that sucks.

Yeah, they're nasty buggers. Deceptively quick, and you have to be sure to press down hard to kill em, otherwise they'll slip by.

Nasty little things. Helped my friend move his stuff and when he lifted this box, there were a bunch beneath them, killed them with my shoe, but disgusted me.

I had never really seen them where I used to live in west Texas. Mind you, we had plenty of freakish things come in the house, like 12-inch long centepeedes as thick as rope, at least 1 scorpion a week, and lost of huge spiders.
our cat took care of most things though and I didn't have a problem with it

moved out to Las Vegas in January, which is very similar in climate to where I was, but damn it these silverfish I hate! 3rd floor (top floor) apartment, no insects to speak of beyond the occasional fly which wanders in if I leave trash outside on the balcony, but I see at least 1 silverfish a week crawling across the wall and I hate em

I don't know how people squish bugs... that's the nastiest thing ever... I mean do you enjoy wiping guts off the floor & your shoes ? Just spray + vacuum = cleaner.
