Long story short:
Ordered a poster from Art.com.
They shipped it on July 28th.
USPS Priority mail says they were notified they'd recieve a package on the 29th.
One week later no tracking information has been updated yet package finally shows up on doorstep...
Bent.
I open package hoping it is just superficial damage, but I was wrong.
Here is another example of the damage. It doesn't end there, it goes up the poster in a straight line along the part of the box that was bent (posters are rolled up).
I went to the post office to complain, and they said there is nothing they can do unless I had insurance (which Art.com didn't offer), and even though they messed it up (to which he nodded) I have to deal with it.
So here is my problem, shipping is $5.75 to send it back, and supposedly Art.com will replace the poster if it is damaged, but I think it is horribly unfair for me to have to pay for the shipping when the shipping company screwed up. This happens way too often and they really should be held accountable. It's not fair you pay them to do a job, and then have to buy insurance to make sure they do it correctly, or at least so you don't take the hit.
So what can I do?
