ARGH!!! F&%* SPANISH 2 TEACHER!!!!!!

*sigh* I'm in 10th grade and school hasn't been this bad. Last year, my Spanish 1 teacher only got us through half the book and we barely had no work. Now this year I goto Spanish 2 and the damn teacher gives us 150 word vocab tests and he tells us the day before. WTF is that??? He tries to crack jokes and its not even funny. And I come up to him today and I tell him seriously I am not understanding anything and he #*(&%(# JOKES ABOUT IT!!! *sigh*. I think I am doing the worst in the whole class. I probably have the lowest F in there.

I think this is how my clases are

Geometry - D+ (I keep messing up on little mistakes!)
English - A
Spanish - F
History - C (His requirement is to memorize ALL the Euopean countires, capitals and location and get a 90% on the test!)
Photo 2 - A
Health - A

Man...my parents are gonna KILL me. They expect a B or better. I think I should go run away and cry. Hmm... if they get the Progress Report in the mail before I do.. I guess I won't be posting for a while because my dad has a temper and will probably throw my computer, skateboard away. Prolly turn off the cable modem, won't let me goto work..etc. I wish I had those parents who wanted just C's and that would make them happy. ARGHH!!! This is one thing that sux about being Asian.

EDIT:I seriously think I might Fail this semester of Spanish and there goes my hopes of a Computer Science major :(

I already know Vietnamese as well.. 3 languages is too much for me. Man...this really sux.

Being Asian has nothing to do with it, my parents are just as bad :)

I'm in 10th grade too been doing well in every class except Algebra 2. I'm lucky I have the easiest Spanish 2 teacher. Unfortunately my Alg 2 teacher sucks and he hasn't taught anything. Everyone in that class has a C or less, literally!
My grades break down as following

English- A
Spanish 2- A
History- A
Gym- A
Comp Programming- A
Chem- A or B
Alg 2- D-

Failing spanish in highschool wont do anything to your chances of getting a computer science degree man. Just be straight with your parents and tell them that you'v had a rough semester so far and make some changes to your study habits to try and get on top of things again and you'll be fine!

WOW you have an easy schedule as a Sophmore....
I'm a Sophmore too , however I go to a Magnet school (have to get accepted)

1- US AP History B Weighted to A
2- Essay Writing (Advanced English) A
3- AP Computer Science A Weighted to A
4- German II C :( This teacher is horrible, plus I hate/suck at foreign language
5- Geometry A ( I know I should be taking a harder math, but I decided to drop down to Algebra 1 last year instead of taking Geometry last year, so my Junior/Sophmore years would be easier..)
6- AP Chemistry B Weighted to A ( NOW THIS CLASS IS HARD!@!!!!, for example he gave us a 100 question worksheet due the next day..., he expects a lot :) I work my azz off to just get that B...)
GPA as of now = 3.83

Had basically the same problem last year. I moved from the Bay Area to the Central Valley and Spanish 1 wasn't to great. When I got to the Valley, Spanish 2 was hard as hell. Different teaching sytle between the schools. I struggled with a D the whole year and was only able to get a C- by getting a C on the finals. And you're teachers history requirement isn't too bad. I had to memorize 250 countries, capitals, locations, etc. on the world map to even pass. It also sucks how knowing a second language already doesn't count for HS since they usually have no classes for the language. And I know all to well about the high expectations you're to recieve since your Asian.. Good luck.

You want a hard class, try AP European History, quizzes everyday on the most detailed stuff, and tests every 3 weeks. You have to literally spend hour and a half a night to hope to get a B in the class.

My Senior schedule is going to be tough for me. This year, I have 2 AP classes, 2 Honors classes, Web Page Design (Very very easy for me..) and Intro to Art since I needed to have an Art requirement to graduate. My schedule for next year as of right now is looking to be AP English II, AP Government, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, Physics, and probably AP Chem or AP Bio. Don't know how I'll do it next year..

Yea..its 6 periods for a sophmore here. We have block clases so 3 clases a day, Odd or even clases..two hours long. But we don't have any computer classes here even though there are tons and tons of labs. The "actual" computer class is ROP Computer networking and Repairing which I know i'll ace but I need to be 16 in order to take the class. But we have this gay standard that we have to have two yrs of foreign language in order to goto a 4 yr university. I'll "look" bad if I have to goto community college when I graduate. The only classes I really look foward to going to is Photo2 cause its fun/easy/cool and there is a hot chick there that I think likes me :D!

Will you parents get mad over somthing like spanish? That seems kind of stupid since its something you will never use. My parents would know better than to take my computer away I would just fail all of my classes on purpose.

I'm not even attempting Spanish 3 even though it's highly recommended for a UC. I just don't see how getting a C or a D in Spanish 3 would help at all.

my dad teaches AP Euro. It is a hard class but the more work you do the less you will have to study befor the test. A 5 on that test can make the rest of your life seem so easy. I could never fit the class into my schedual, but heard everyone complain about how much work he gives them. Then the next year he gets the kudos on making them work so hard since htey get 4's and 5's mainly. Think i get the wrong end of the deal. Well now they complain to my brother who is still in High School. HA

My teacher doesnt give us any work, as in like papers or essay, all we do is read the euro book and take tests, it couldnt be less work theoretically, but damn that book is so boring, it takes like 4 minutes to read a page, and u fall asleep after 4 pages.

AP Chemistry and AP Calculus were the easiest classes when I was a senior.

These subjects require the use of logic. I find it easier to apply common sense rather than having to memorize a book....

Go up to your Spanish teacher and cuss him out in Spanish or Vietnamese :) (Chinga tu madre! Du ma! (SP?)) Is this allowed here?

Actually, my roomate and I were discussing about getting into UC schools and how competitive it is now. You would have to have at least a 4.0 GPA (meaning, the one you fill out on your UC app), 1400 SATs, and a boat load of extracurricular activities (I may be under). Its easier to get into a UC school through a JC anyways, and nobody cares where you went before you got your degree. I have two friends that went to JC out of HS and now go to UCLA. Back in 1993-94, a person I knew with a SAT score of <1100 got into UCI. Of course this was back in the day of Affirmative Action.

Anyways, if a student thought that they didn't have a chance in he!! To get into a UC school, but was a pretty good student (top 25%), I was thinking that they should just slack off, go to a JC, then to a big school. Looking back, I was thinking maybe I should of done that, but my parents were insistant that I go a four year school out of HS. Well, I didn't get into any UCs that I wanted to, so I ended up at a private school.

You gotta play the system.

Block scheduling sucks. I had it in HS, plus I played basketball, plus zero period. Went to sleep many times in class cuz i could handle almost 2 hrs of class.

Just my 100 cents.

I hate school too...you guys will have it bad when either Bush or Gore are elected. More Mandatory testing. Fu*ck that.

Freshmen year I had a 3.2
Sophmore year I had a 2.74
Junior year 3.0
Senior ???

Anyways, I took all the classes mandatory in Freshmen and Sophmore year. That was like 10 classes a day.

Junior Year I took:
Span III: I got a B first semester, a C the second
American history: What a joke, A both semesters
Honors English: C first semester, B the second
Algebra II: A+ first semester, C the second
AP Physics: A first semester, B second semester
Chemistry: B first semester, D!! Second semester

This year I'm taking
AP English
Math Analysis/ Pre-calc
Spanish IV
ART
Choir

I'm so sick of school it's not even funny. Second semester of my junior year, I burned out. I went to school everyday, and I've never messed a day of school in my life. Well the school f'ed up once, and gave a girl, who was the teacher's daughter, perfect attendence, and me nada. Anyways, I've never missed a day of school. That helped me alot in my classes, especially Chemistry. Hated that class. I struggled from all Fs second semster, and I think I did an admirable job raising them to higher scores. From my burnout, I became infinitely more humble, less naive, and more intelligent. I wasn't the f*ckin prissy high schooler. I lost a lot of friends that turned out to be selfish POSs...and became very seperated from what was hip. I went to homecoming last saturday, and I didn't have a F*ckin clue as to what I would wear. I used to be a good dresser...not anymore:( I don't even talk to girls anymore, but that's because I've had one bad experience that burned me for many years.

I'd encourage you all to hang in there...but what the f8ck do I know? I am seriously considering the military, because my grades aren't good enough for any college. My advice for now though is, stick with it...and work your ass off to get decent grades. Scream a lot when you're frustrated. Breakt hings when you're frustrated, anything to rid yourself of stress and frustration. Think of the big picture, but not too much. I've spent many a nights up until 5:00a.m. thinking about my future.

SCHOOL SUCKS! IT'S ONLY TO PINPOINT WHO'S GONNA FLIP BURGERS, AND WHO'S GONNA OWN THE CORPORATIONS THAT MAKE YOU FLIP BURGERS FOR THEM! Tests do not point out every attribute of a person. You could get really good grades, but only because you're a sponge. You could be really smart, but do horribly on tests. I mean...f*ck that...

Paul

P.S-Man I got this 10pg English research paper due on E.M. Forster. Anyone wanna show me some love, and give me some info on this dude? I didn't know he was gay...

Paul
