I HATE REAL ESTATE

Why is it so hard to say: "here is where I will be working. Show me *everything* for sale within a mile of it because gas is for the birds."

It's not. That's very easy to do. My realtor friend gives me access to the local MLS and I can pull up a map, paint a rectangle around the area I want, and find all houses in that area.

Find a quality realtor.

Why can't I do it online? Are these schmucks trying to make a buck or what? Why can't they unite the customer (me) with what I want to buy? It's like they missed the WHOLE POINT of the information age.

Can you bugmenot the MLS? Seems like all the ones available to the public are very limited. They don't give you sq feet or anything.

That's precisely it. A large part of the value they're supposed to provide the consumer is helping you with their choices, and if all consumers had access to the same information they did their purpose would be underminded a great deal. Most agents act like they're doing some huge task to find you properties, but it's really a 10 second search.

No... they didn't miss it. They know there is money to be made in keeping information from people and giving it to others for a fee. That's the entire way a Real Estate Broker makes money.

Yup. Most of the public ones are just bait to pay for a service. The real MLS gives you tax records, square footage, pictures, who owns it, which agent is selling it, the papers the seller signed when listing it, etc. etc. It gives you absolutely everything.

MLS is great.

Yeah, real estate agents are worhtless. Thank god that the housing bubble crash will see most of them flock to other jobs.

Don't forget, a property would never sell if the furniture wasn't setup just right for the open house. Yeah right...

I just can't belive how fvcking stupid this is that I can't go to a website and get a list of at least SOME of the properties that are within a radius of a single address. I want to see NO properties outside of walking distance from where I'm looking at working. This is apparantly IMPOSSIBLE for real estate agents to do provide.

It's odd how they bogart the info considering how much effing money you want to spend. Can you view the Maybach website? Bugatti? Exactly!
