everytime i read a paragraph in a textbook my mind starts to wander off and think about other things. this would result in me going back to the beginning of the paragraph and rereading it about 2-3 times on average before i pick up the concept. anyone else have this problem and know how to lessen this behavior when readin? it sucks spending double the amount of time on a chapter when i have 6 chapters to read.

i do that too, but kinda force myself to read. no, i dont take drugs for that type of thing, i think tahts a horrible way out of the habit, its a HABIT, not a chemical problem. sometimes i fall asleep reading textbooks, but i love a good book. i can read a good book for 12+hours at a time if i really like the book

Take notes while you read. That's what I have to do or my mind will wander off. Just outline what you are reading. It really helps you study too. It is a pain in the a$$ though so it will take some dedication.

You may have ADD but having your mind wander and not being able to easily study are not necessarily symptoms. Most people have these problems.
